Back in the butter days of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), the meta keywords tag was a sure-fire way to ranking success. All you had to do was stuff that bad boy full of your keywords (even using the same ones multiple times for added effect) and you were GOLDEN! But now in 2010-going-on-2011, those days are long-gone. These days, the meta keywords tag is totally and utterly useless to your Web site… or is it? Here are 10 reasons you may want to actually consider using the meta keywords tag for your Web pages:

1. You truly believe it’s going to help you rank even though every industry pro tells you otherwise. You’ve got something to prove and by golly, you’re going to prove it!
2. You want to waste your time. No, seriously… You really do want to just completely and utterly waste. your. time.
3. You want to give your competition your BEST and most researched keywords on a silver platter!
4. Facebook and Twitter are both down at the moment.
5. Because this guy told you to. After all, he did invent the Internet, right?
6. You hacked Google and uploaded an undetectable virus that completely switches their page rank algorithm with a “meta keywords” algorithm. You’re golden here, because you’re the only one who would actually be using the meta keywords tag these days! SELF HIGH-FIVE!
7. You want to populate your  section with every possible meta tag known to man.
8. Because you’re a TRUE SEO guru who practices what they preach!
9. You’ve figured out how to travel back in time, yet somehow keep your Web site intact and on the Internet when you get there. (On a serious note, if anyone actually figures out how to do this, please shoot me an email, kthx).
10. Because you can, dang it! And not Google or Bing or anyone else can take that away from you! HA!

So what can keyword tagging can do to you instead? For me, it is still a good way to present your reader the relevant keywords on your articles so they could find the things that interests them better. Don’t use tags that are not in any way related to your posts as it only becoming an eye sore honestly. Let your site be as intuitive and presentable as much as possible and not over populate with lots of links.

I was working with TAHANAN.NET since 4 years ago and overall I was satisfied with their service. Yes I suffered downtime, horrible database corruption, hacked and overdue billing but one thing TAHANAN.NET headed by Carlos M. Oda provides best is the assurance that they will give you with an excellent service to mitigate disaster and recover your data.

Yesterday, one of their server has suffered a hard disk breakdown forcing them to bring the server and all the sites it hosted including mine to a halt for almost 24 hours. The downtime coincides with www.goateneo.com big event at UAAP yesterday afternoon where they should feature their first live scoring game via their site.

Another big drawback I suffered with the outage yesterday is the lost of two sites which i just finished constructing. Hawak ko na buhok ko at ipapalo ko na sana sa pader eh. Pero I still believe in what Carlos can do.

I wrote a ticket to ask them to help me recover the two sites. Carlos replied with a positive message and few minutes later they recovered them from the pawned harddrive.

Yes, me, my partners and my clients suffered but TAHANAN.NET didn’t slack and instead coordinate full time with NOC to restore their service. Compared that with philhosting.net where one of my client is hosted. Thammie Sy has lost her blog and philhosting refused to recover them until now.

TAHANAN.NET will still remain my dependable partner in delivering great service for my existing and future clients.

Updates – 11:22am – Database is being migrated from the old hard drive to the new drive. You will experience mysql downtime for a while.

Updates – 9:20am – Backup restore is done! If you have account not resolving, please submit a ticket to our tech support. We will do some minor checks and then have the database migrated from the old hard drive. Please hold on.

Updates – 9:00am – Backup restore is at 98%. If you have bulletin boards, forums, guestbooks, or any database driven website, please close it till 12 noon today. Once we are done with the backup restore, we will update the databases of the accounts from the old drive when the last time was up. In this way, you will have the latest data in your site.

Updates – 8:15am – Backup restore is at 92%, letter “V” by username.

Updates – 6:53am – Backup restore is at 80%…

Updates – 6:00am – Backup restore is at 71%…

Updates – 5:23am – Backup restore is at 63%…

Updates – 4:10am – Backup restore is at 54%, just started letter “M” by username.

Let’s hope that all the sectors of the drive are fine. In case an account cannot be migrated from the old drive, we will have to restore the account from the backup drive.

Server100 suddenly was found having Internal Server Error at around 12:25pm today. It was reported to NOC to check and after several hours of recovery attempt, NOC informed that they have to get a new hard drive and reload the OS and reinstal cpanel. Then transfer the accounts to the new drive. This will definetely take long time. We will keep our clients posted thru the tickets.
