I’m a hands-on IT specialist. I build it, I troubleshoot it, and I maintain it, whether it’s a website, a server, a network or a robot.
My work started with computers: setting them up, finding out what’s wrong and keeping them running. I took on my first freelance clients in 2007, then ran IT for a retail company and a healthcare company, looking after their PCs, networks, point-of-sale terminals, medical equipment and websites.
Along the way I set up my own web server, where I host and manage client websites, and I’ve looked after the adobo Magazine website as its web administrator for nearly a decade. Troubleshooting is the skill that ties it all together: finding out why something broke and fixing it properly. I finished my BS in Computer Science in 2019 and joined ICCT Colleges the same year.
At ICCT I went from faculty to Academic Coordinator to Officer-in-Charge of the College of Computer Studies. I administered the college’s Blackboard Learn system, built online course modules, and trained faculty to teach online.
I wasn’t a competitive student in high school. College changed that. I joined programming competitions, excelled in my programming classes and led our group presentations. I remember both sides, so I care a lot about making technical material clear for everyone.
Next, I’m taking all of it back to industry, starting with Salleh, the robot I’ve wanted to build for three years.
